Here at XPO, were looking for a full-time, permanent Transport Shift Operator to join us on our AM shift for our ETEX contract based in Portbury, Bristol. Core hours are 06 00 14 00 but youll need flexibility to cover other shifts. Youll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective running of our transport function. Pay, benefits and more: Were looking to offer a salary of up to £27,100per annum. What youll do on a typical day: Transport Operator on the ETEX Portbury site, reporting to the Transport Shift Manager: Operations Booking in and dispatching a team of 40+ own drivers, 6 shunters and 6 Warehouse Operatives Booking sub-contract vehicles and drivers into site working in a small but busy transport gatehouse Ensuring the timely loading of vehicles on site Dispatching Drivers Communicating issues to the customer Support the Shift Management team with customer ETAs, haulier, and supplier communication Process Debrief Paperwork and file accurately and securely Providing Proof of Delivery to the customer Liaising with external hauliers Assist with operational planning Assist with maintenance planning KPI reporting Planning (Core & Sub Contract) Scheduling and allocating of deliveries to > 40 articulated vehicles. Building relationships with Third Party hauliers and internal XPO sites Maximising vehicle utilisation Service Levels Ensuring deliveries are made on time Reporting of any late deliveries to the customer Ensuring all site and contract, personnel and fleet administration paperwork is checked, processed, and filed or securely stored Ensure all customer paperwork is checked and stored securely ensuring efficient document retrieval when required. What you need to succeed at XPO: Essential: 1-2 years experience working wihin a transport office or office environment. Essential: Strong communication and administration skills, able to handle different personality types Essential: Great organisational skills, management capability and strong influencing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel would be an advantage but training will be provided Be part of something big.
