Senior Geotechnical Engineer

RSK Geosciences are recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Birmingham, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. RSK prides itself on providing its staff with a rewarding and challenging career, encouraging Continuous Professional Development and allowing employees to reach their full potential.Responsibilities:Completing and managing geotechnical projects through desk studies and ground investigation phases, through to the production of interpretive reports for projects in both the UK and overseasDesign, supervision and management of ground investigation and construction worksEarthworks design, specification and supervision/verificationCliff and slope stability inspections and remedial designWorking knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction contracts and specificationsQualification and Experience:BEng/Meng/BSc or equivalent in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Geology or related subject essentialMSc in geotechnics/engineering geology or similar desirable but not essentialWorking towards chartership with either the Geological Society or ICE or another relevant professional bodyDemonstrable experience in the following:Preparation of geotechnical desk studies/geohazard assessmentsDesigning, specifying, supervising and managing ground investigationsDeveloping ground models and deriving geotechnical parametersProduction of high quality interpretative reports, design reports and specificationsGeotechnical analysis of foundations, slopes, earthworks, basements and retaining structuresExperience of conducting desk studies and geohazard assessments for a large-scale linear infrastructure in the UK and/or internationally would be desirableFull UK drivers licence.Salary and Benefits:Commensurate with ExperienceContributory Pension SchemeFree life assurance coverA flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, and private health careRSK Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer.#Engineering #Geotechnical #rskfamilyRSK will not accept unsolicited CVs from agencies other than RSK PSL or Secondary agencies.
