About the role : The Regulatory Due Diligence and Integration Lead is a vital role in our acquisition strategy whereby you will be ensuring that potential acquisitions undergo rigorous regulatory scrutiny.

You will ensure the post-transaction compliance integration is seamless and effective, allowing all stakeholders to be kept up-to-date.

You will have a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks as well as having exceptional analytical skills, monitoring and reporting all aspects of the integration process. Having the ability to build relationships internally and externally, is crucial in the role allowing you to collaborate effectively ensuring thorough due diligence.

About you : You have a proactive approach to regulatory research, monitoring the industry standards and best practices which you can align with the company's vision effectively. Through thorough risk analysis and reporting, you identify compliance gaps and potential liabilities, delivering detailed reports that summarise findings along with highlighting any potential risks.

Having strong problem solving skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments with ease, you are able to provide guidance and training to internal teams on regulatory compliance matters, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the company.

You are committed to continuous improvement where you can develop and refine tools, templates and methodologies to enhance our efficiency and effectiveness through regulatory due diligence & periodic regulatory integration reporting.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Regulatory Due Diligence :

  • Develop a regulatory due diligence process that covers all key post-acquisition risks, continually refining to reflect the evolving regulatory landscape.

  • Lead comprehensive regulatory due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions.

  • Assess and identify regulatory risks, compliance gaps, and potential liabilities.

  • Risk Analysis and Reporting :

  • Develop detailed reports summarising due diligence findings, highlighting key regulatory risks, and providing actionable recommendations.

  • Present findings to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of potential impacts.

  • Regulatory Research and Monitoring :

  • Stay informed on current and emerging regulations, industry standards, and best practices.

  • Post-Transaction Integration :

  • Develop and implement regulatory compliance integration plans for newly acquired entities.

  • Ensure that acquired entities align with the company's regulatory policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and report on the integration process, addressing any compliance issues that arise, in conjunction with respective line management.

  • Collaboration and Leadership :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thorough due diligence and smooth integration.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on regulatory compliance matters.

  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in due diligence and integration practices.

  • Develop and refine tools, templates, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of due diligence and integration efforts.

Essential skills and experience

  • Level four financial services qualification or above.
  • Proven experience in financial services compliance, with a focus on acquisitions and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, including FCA Handbook, JMLSG and GDPR.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
