Part Time Corporate Tax Consultant Based in Chelmsford Following the acquisition of Countrywide by Connells in 2021, the tax function is taking responsibility for all Connells and Countrywide tax matters. This part time role has been created to enable the team to take on the additional work. You will be based in Chelmsford This role would suit a qualified CTA accountant who is looking to reduce hours and want a stable and new challenge or you may be a qualified accountant, new qualified or CTA finalist looking for that move into industry. You mainpurpose of the job :

  • Tax Compliance focusing on Corporate tax but also providing ad hoc support for PAYE and VAT queries.
  • To prepare Corporate and Deferred tax provisions for the Group’s results for internal, external financial reporting.
  • To assist in preparation of the tax notes included in the statutory accounts for the UK Group and subsidiary companies.
  • To prepare and submit Corporate tax returns.
  • To assist with Quarterly Group VAT consolidation

Duties and responsibilities These include, but are not limited to, the following: Group Tax Reporting

  • Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts across the Group’s subsidiaries
  • Manage Group Corporate tax provisions to facilitate quarterly payments on account
  • Maintain the group tax consolidation schedules
  • Liaise with other key stakeholders throughout the Group with regard to the preparation of their annual tax packs.
  • Assist in the Group year end tax reporting for inclusion in the Annual Group Financial Reporting pack
  • Liaise with the Group’s external auditors.

Group Tax Compliance

  • Prepare detailed corporate tax returns and computations within agreed timescales; ensure the efficient and risk managed delivery of compliance using OneSource tax Software.
  • Review corporate tax returns and computations for submission to HMRC, including transfer pricing and Corporate Interest calculations with support from the Group Tax Manager where required.
  • Provide support with documentation for SAO compliance and tax governance.
  • Assist with the quarterly VAT consolidation process including liaising with all stakeholders on any matters arising
  • Liaise with the HMRC Customer Compliance manager and other members of the HMRC team to ensure smooth delivery of tax compliance obligations including claims and elections.
  • Supporting the Group Tax Manager with ad hoc tax advisory on PAYE and VAT queries
  • Assist with integration of acquisitions into the group.
