Reporting to the Factory General Manager, the Site Excellence Lead plays a key role in delivering the overall site strategy and is accountable for the development and delivery of the site Excellence strategy aligned to the pladis Global excellence framework across the Aintree Site. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a strategically vital workstream, delivering a range of operational objectives, strategic projects and culture change. You will report directly to the Factory General Manager at Aintree. You will also coach, support and facilitate improvement initiatives through both Team Managers and Operator groups in line with the pladis global Excellence framework. Other key relationships include: - Manufacturing Managers - Team Managers - Process Development Manager - Site Engineering Manager - Area Engineering Managers - Trade Union Representatives - Finance Manager - Site Experience Lead - Team Members - Other Site Excellence Leads Whilst the role is site based in Aintree, travel to other sites and supporting projects at other sites will be encouraged, and this will support benchmarking across both the home site and other pladis sites! The role is not shift based but will require you to be flexible in supporting the delivery requirement of business / project initiatives. What will this role achieve? Overall ownership and accountability for the site Excellence strategy that delivers improved safety, quality, service and cost. Participation in the development and execution of the sites culture change and programme and zero loss strategy will be a priority, as well as actively facilitating a team development of the Excellence principles. You will facilitate the delivery of medium to long term strategy to enable the factory to reduce it’s cost base through the site productivity agenda. What will be your key deliverables? - Act as a role model to always ensure the site H&S policy is implemented and followed and to encourage the importance of being mindful to potential hazards and ensuring a behavioural safety culture is developed and sustained on site. - Accountable for mentoring, developing and leading team members to deliver continuously improving operating performance - Responsible for developing and delivering site Productivity programme - Responsible for ensuring that standard methodology is shared between pladis sites and implemented on own site - Facilitate the development of the site strategic plan aligned with both site and pladis UK vision and objectives using the Policy Deployment process - Ensure that all manufacturing metrics are well defined, understood and communicated to all - Working closely with the Team Managers to ensure the ongoing sustainability of Excellence tools on site - ensuring that skill levels are maintained, and benefits realised - Conducting ‘narrow and deep’ interventions on specific areas as part of the site Productivity agenda - Deliver and support formal Excellence tools training on site What do you need for this role? Essential - Proven manufacturing experience with exposure to Excellence methodology - Experience of working in a unionised environment - Experience of working in a cross functional team - Good people skills - ability to communicate and influence people at
