This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary engineering, environmental and project management consultancy, in an exciting period f growth. Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their Structural Engineering Servicesteam in Bangor or Sheffield office.

The Role :

  • Undertake structural design calculations in a variety of materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry in accordance with British Standards / Euro Codes to successfully deliver projects for the company's Clients.
  • You will be required to produce, and coordinate scheme designs then develop them to tender and construction.
  • Work closely with other members of the team, in particular structural CAD Technicians, in the preparation of working general arrangement and detail drawings. In some instances drafting services will need to be undertaken by structural engineers.
  • Undertake coordination with other professionals as appropriate, including Contractors, and organise your time to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Collaborative working with the company's other offices.

The Requirements :

  • Designs will be produced by hand calculation or using Design Software as appropriate to the nature and magnitude of the project and to underpin this you will be expected to have a good grasp of Engineering Principles.
  • Have a good understanding of technical design packages including Tekla, CADS and Tedds to support the design process.
  • Good organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills including a basic understanding of AutoCAD and Word.
  • Full driving licence and use of a car.
  • Commercial awareness.

Expected Qualifications :

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in similar engineering consultancy.
