Role Responsibility Sunrise Childrens Centre offers overnight short breaks for children in West Kent from the age of 5 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs. These may include complex health needs, behaviours of concern, and help with every day tasks. We always support children to have fun with their friends and peers, to learn skills, make choices, and to be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they, and their families, can have a break.We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of leadership skills. Whilst creating a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children and young people of varying needs.You will be required to work a 4 week rolling rota shift pattern, which includes two weekends per month and sleep-in duties.You will be required to assist with and carry out Personal care. To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:- Can lead a shift whilst leading by example to the team and children/young people.- Has completed the Diploma level 4 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this. Putting training and knowledge into practice- Has excellent time management with a non-bias approach when on shift- Is willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date. Ensuring the medication for children is given to the child in compliance with our standard operating procedures- Can work with the team to ensure all children and young people are given the opportunity to gain new positive experiences and social experiences that are inclusive for all- Can communicate with transparency- Has awareness of the Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and put into practiceIn return we can offer you:- A detailed induction and training programme, with an ongoing plan for development- 29 days annual leave + bank holiday entitlement- Generous contributory pension schemeInterviews will be conducted under the Choosing with Care assessment process which will take place over two days candidates need to attend both days.This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
