Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified GPhC registered pharmacy technician to join our friendly pharmacy team at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. We are looking for a conscientious individual, who is motivated and can work as part of a team, has a flexible approach towards the needs of the service, and able to demonstrate professionalism possessing both excellent organisational and communication skills.The innovative and friendly pharmacy team is well established within the health board. We are both ambitious and motivated, focusing our work around the best interests of our patients and continuously striving to improve the services we provide.Applicants will be required to take part in the weekend, bank holiday and locking up rota. Main duties of the job You will need to have previous experience of working in an acute hospital ward environment and be motivated, have effective communication and negotiating skills, working closely with patients.You will be required to work under pressure and alone with excellent prioritisation skills. Applicants must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC and have completed both your ACPT and MMPT accreditation. This post is advertised as a Band 5 and ideally the successful candidate for this role must have achieved the necessary accreditations namely MMPT and ACPT.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications, experience and skills Essential NVQ3 and BTEC in pharmaceutical science (or equivalent). Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician and Medicines Management qualified or relevant demonstrable experience Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Desirable Significant experience of working in a hospital pharmacy department or equivalent. Experience of managing staff. Ability to work as a 'lead' technician Aptitude and Abilities Essential Good verbal/written communication skills, problem solving Good communicator, motivated, able to work as part of a team.
