This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative new model to help the most vulnerable in our community. Rather than follow normal housing routes of hostels to supported housing to independent accommodation, this service offers clients who have been rough sleeping, a temporary studio flat and intensive support needed to build their skills and lead functional lives.

As a Specialist Support Worker you will be working with 12 clients, providing 6 of these clients with in-depth key working support and case supervising the other clients. The support is wide ranging and tailored to clients' individual needs, always with the overriding objective of supporting clients' journey to independence. The clients often have experienced multiple disadvantages, including mental health issues, substance misuse and childcare trauma, and you will work with a multi-disciplined team in our services and the community to provide the support they need.

Keeping clients safe is a priority by ensuring their environment is both safe from health and safety and psychologically informed perspective.

You will be a skilled communicator who can engage with clients adopting a strengths based approach whilst maintaining professional boundaries building trust to make healthy connections and adopt life skills for independent living.

In order to be successful in this role you will need : Ability to work independently without constant supervision, as well as within a team

Good verbal and written communication.

An understanding of working directly with vulnerable people; this can include clients with learning disabilities, mental health problems, physical disabilities, ill health, behavioural issues, domestic violence

IT skills necessary to undertake all administrative and reporting requirements.

Ability to deal with challenging situations in a calm and effective manner, managing risk and health and safety as appropriate

Ability to motivate, engage and inspire

Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities on time
