18 Ton Goods Vehicle Driver

The Gooding Group is a privately owned business based in Sheffield which was formed in 1996 and specialises in the supply of furniture to the new build housing sector. We number most of the largest National home builders amongst our clients. We offer a supply only or a supply and fit service with our own qualified installers based around the UK, and due to continued growth and expansion are now looking to add 18 ton certified drivers to our transport department. You will be required to: Make deliveries to a pre-determined schedule to nationwide building site locations. Be willing to do nights out as there will be typically 3 overnight runs per week. Have knowledge of driver hours/regulations and follow such. Work in a professional manner. Be prepared to undertake site inductions and training. Have excellent geographical knowledge. Be able to follow company procedures and keep the team informed of progress or delays during a run. We should make it clear that if your ideal driving job is large numbers of hours on motorways trunking between distribution centres, with little or no personal contact and with third party fork lift loading on and off, this is not the driving job for yourself. If however you would be interested in a position which involves regular trips to new destinations, regular contact with our office, our clients and their team on site (and the need to develop good working relationships with all), and if you would enjoy the physical aspect of carrying our kit from your vehicle to our customers new build homes, then this could be the ideal position for yourself. The physical handballing is necessary because the vast majority of our deliveries will be to properties on building sites the day prior to installation, and you will be our only individual on site. We are looking for an early appointment therefore interviews will commence as soon as possible. We would confirm the salary package is made up of a £32k basic and a weekly bonus of £100 for simply following company procedure, a process which is confirmed by return to site interviews with the Warehouse Team Leader. You will be provided with both BP and All Star cards for the purchase of fuel as well as a mobile phone for communication. We look forward to hearing from you.
