About The Role

Based at our Stoke Poges site near Slough in London, you’ll be responsible for a variety of aspects of the Urenco Group’s overseas and cross border compliance obligations whilst also supporting the International Tax Team’s advisory role as a business partner.With Urenco, currently mobilising for significant expansion, there will be opportunities to support on a range of commercial initiatives, advising on the corporate and indirect tax implications of transactions and of developments in business operations. Inthe context of Urenco’s focus on sustainability, this role will provide a particular opportunity to shape our Net Zero Action Plan advising on environmental taxes.The International Tax Team has an unusually wide remit, also having responsibility for globalindirect taxes, customs duties, business rates, property taxes, stamp duties.Working in this team, therefore, provides exposure to a very wide range of tax matters in addition to corporate income taxes.

  • What will your day look like?
  • Managing advisor preparation of overseas corporate tax returns (e.g., Netherlands, Canada, China, Ireland), while supporting on international aspects of UK returns. Assisting with the management of tax enquiries in these jurisdictions.
  • Preparing transfer pricing documentation, managing implementation of transfer pricing policies and supporting Head of Tax and Deputy Head of Tax with transfer pricing analysis and negotiations. This includes supporting complex advance pricing agreementsubmissions and mutual agreement processes and determining the treatment of novel transactions
  • Reviewing high value sales and purchase contracts critical to Urenco’s business operations and expansion plans to ensure tax risks (both direct and indirect taxes) and opportunities are identified and managed and providing ad-hoc review and advice onimplications new business activities and transactions.
  • Supporting the Group’s compliance with and optimisation of a wide range of UK and Global taxes and levies, including VAT, customs duties, property taxes, and withholding taxes

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • Educated to degree level and CTA and/or ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Previous experience of corporate income tax in a cross-boarder environment, either obtained in major accounting firm or in house at a multinational corporation.
  • Previous experience of VAT, Customs duties and/or environmental taxes beneficial but not essential
  • A high level of competency with MS office, in particular Excel is vital.
  • Some experience of SAP and BPC would be desirable but not essential
