About the Opportunity : The key objectives of the role are:
- Develop MELCOR input files for novel and advanced situations.
- Run simulations under rigorous QA arrangements.
- Maintain and develop Jacobs’ software verification systems.
- Able to analyse the results of calculational simulations.
- educe and report the capabilities of the code when applied to novel situations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve calculational issues.
- Demonstrate a personal rigor in software testing and calculational scrutiny.
- Provide a critical and proportionate assessment of analysis carried out by others.
Here’s What You’ll Need : Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
- Applicants must be UK nationals and will need to obtain security clearance to SC level before commencing in the role.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written English.
- Good initiative, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
- Good interpersonal skills, to work as part of a team.
- An understanding of the physics principles of how light water reactors (LWRs) work and a basic knowledge of key power plant components.
