About the Opportunity : The key objectives of the role are:

  • Develop MELCOR input files for novel and advanced situations.
  • Run simulations under rigorous QA arrangements.
  • Maintain and develop Jacobs’ software verification systems.
  • Able to analyse the results of calculational simulations.
  • educe and report the capabilities of the code when applied to novel situations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve calculational issues.
  • Demonstrate a personal rigor in software testing and calculational scrutiny.
  • Provide a critical and proportionate assessment of analysis carried out by others.

Here’s What You’ll Need : Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be UK nationals and will need to obtain security clearance to SC level before commencing in the role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written English.
  • Good initiative, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Good interpersonal skills, to work as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the physics principles of how light water reactors (LWRs) work and a basic knowledge of key power plant components.
