We are seeking a highly skilled Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team based in Waterbeach, near Cambridge. Our engineers play a vital role in assembling, testing, installing, and maintaining our bespoke machinery for clients across the UK and worldwide.

The Role:

As a Service and Commissioning Engineer at Huxley Bertram, you will be responsible for:

Responding to customer callouts and resolving technical issues (mechanical, electrical, and control)
Assisting with the installation and commissioning of equipment at client sites
Offering training and support to customers
Repairing, testing, and maintaining machinery
Providing regular reports and feedback to customers on service requests
Liaising with technical sales engineers to develop customer relationships and provide after-sales support
Evaluating equipment performance and suggesting improvements
Travelling nationally and internationally to meet client requirements

You will also be part of a collaborative team, working alongside Senior Engineers and technical sales teams to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

An HND/HNC/City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or similar)
Proven experience working with mechanical and electrical industrial machinery
Knowledge of automation and product handling systems
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
Hands-on skills in electrical wiring and mechanical fitting
PLC programming and fault-finding experience (advantageous)
Experience with servo-hydraulic systems or NI LabView (advantageous)
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, often at short notice
A full UK driving licence

Service and Commissioning Supervisor, and Senior Engineers

Location:

The role will be based at our headquarters in Waterbeach and Cottenham, with travel to client sites across the UK and internationally.

Package & Benefits:

Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime + Discretionary Bonus
Flexible working hours: 40 hours per week (core hours: 9:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) with discretionary holidays over Christmas
