Role Summary : Role Responsibilities :

  • Work directly in the Aventum broking vertical to support the business areas in implementing and maintaining the Compliance Framework in their departments.
  • Act, with support from Aventum Group Compliance, as the primary point of contact for Aventum broking divisions' day-to-day compliance queries.
  • Work closely with the Aventum broking Senior Leadership Team to support the business in implementing pragmatic solutions by providing expert advice and opinion on regulatory impacts.
  • Support AGC in ensuring that the firm's activities comply at all times with its internal procedures, FCA, and other legislative requirements.
  • Provide Compliance advice and challenge to Aventum broking on issues and risks relating to their business or function, including the development and launch of new business models, new products, and new functional processes.
  • Take an active role in projects for the implementation of new regulatory regimes, such as the Consumer Duty within the Aventum broking divisions.
  • Actively assist Aventum broking divisions in ensuring the products they distribute comply with the FCA’s product oversight and governance requirements and work with AGC to carry out reviews evidencing compliance.
  • Promote an open line of communication between AGC and Aventum broking divisions to provide the business with updates on current Compliance initiatives and projects.
  • Assist AGC in the design, drafting, review, and implementation of the firm's compliance policy documents and procedures to ensure they are suitable for Aventum broking divisions.
  • Work with AGC to provide training sessions to the Aventum broking divisions staff on core compliance topics.
  • Provide clear, unambiguous written and oral feedback in response to requests for advice/guidance on regulatory matters presented by the Aventum broking divisions.
  • Support the firm to ensure that adequate records are kept throughout the organisation to demonstrate compliance with FCA requirements and to facilitate regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct periodic health checks that provide risk-based oversight and assurance regarding Aventum broking divisions' compliance with policies, procedures, systems, controls, and governance requirements.
  • Assist Aventum broking divisions in identifying and logging their ongoing regulatory risk exposure and guide the design/remediation of those risks.

Skills and Experience :

  • At least 3 years of relevant compliance experience within the (re)insurance and Lloyd's market. Ideally having worked in a compliance role in reinsurance or Lloyd's Broker.
  • A strong understanding of the FCA’s and Lloyd’s rules and guidance particularly applicable to the (re)insurance sector.
  • A personable individual who is keen, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a diverse, face paced environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Preferably educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
  • Good level of IT literacy particularly in Excel and Word.
