We are looking for a part-time packager to help for our small architectural hardware business. This will entail receiving goods, collecting daily orders and packing ready for post and courier collections for the end of the day. The job will also need a fair amount of stock controlling with the help of our database to record the goods received in and sold.
The main qualities needed will be a high degree of thoroughness and attention for detail, and an ability to use and learn about the database as well as the relevant post/courier processes. Training will be given, but as long as the applicant has had previous computer experience this will not be too difficult. We will require the applicants to have good communciation skills to liaise with customers on occasion, both on the phone and at the counter.
We expect an average of 14 working hours per week (Mon-Fri), but this can vary depending on incoming orders. We are happy to negotiate a contract with a minimum number of hours paid, regardless of workload, with this average in mind. Mondays and Tuesdays tend to be busier, so are more likely to be the longer working days than the rest of the week. There is also the opportunity to take on additional roles, which would extend the working hours. The start time will usually be 9.30am on Mondays and 10.00am the rest of the week.
The applicant will receive aid whilst training but will ultimately mostly be working by themselves. We are a very small unit, however, so the office is only a second or two away from the packing desk.
