We have an opportunity for a Senior Credit Controller to join our Finance team in our Slough / Heathrow Approach office. This role is important as you’ll be responsible for the management of open invoices and the maintenance of customer accounts and ledgers. The position requires close interaction with other Finance team members, the sales organization and other key corporate stakeholders to manage queries and resolve issues.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Credit Controller, your day-to-day responsibilities will typically involve the following:

  • Handling disputed accounts and negotiating to resolution or preparing for escalation if required
  • Mentoring and assisting junior members of the Credit Control team
  • Providing debtor commentary for weekly calls with the stakeholders
  • Monitoring the status of large unpaid invoices to assist the company’s cash flow.
  • Preparing accounts with supporting evidence for legal process
  • Liaising with the sales order processing team to ensure that all customer details are up to date and correct.
  • Maintaining accurate individual measurement and performance statistics in line with team SLA’s
  • Producing credit notes when requested
  • Maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively looking for ways to streamline processes
  • Completing ad-hoc analyses and projects.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with the following skills, competencies and experience:

  • Significant experience working within Credit Control departments
  • Proven experience of operating in a large volume / low value credit control environment
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel
  • Confident, persuasive and clear communicator
  • Able to build relationships with both external customers and internal teams at all levels within the organisation
  • Numerate, analytical, well-organised and with a good eye for detail
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple workstreams to tight deadlines
  • Self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.
