Estates Manager (Major Projects) X2 required by a large public body based in Belfast Your new company Queen's University Belfast are working in partnership with Hays Specialist Recruitment to appoint a number of new key strategic roles within their Estates Directorate team including X2 Estates Managers (Major Projects). This is an exciting time to join Queen's as they embark on their Strategy 2030 which sets out the University's ambition for the next 10 years. To support this, the Estates Directorate has developed an ambitious Estate Strategy and capital projects masterplanwith a wide variety of new build, major refurbishment and estate re-organisation plans. The Estate Strategy also includes three significant major capital projects as part of the BRCD across manufacturing, digital innovation and clinical healthcare which are currently in the early stages of Design. Your new role Queen's are recruiting two permanent Estates Manager roles, based on University Campus, where you will provide specialist estates planning/development and project management expertise to ensure the successful delivery of the University's Estate Strategy andCorporate Plan, and the delivery of the University's City Deal Projects. Project 1: One role will be initially focused on the delivery of the new Global Innovation Institute (GII), a £58m project in the Titanic Quarter. Project 2: One role will be initially focused on the delivery of the new Institute of Research Excellence for Advanced Clinical Healthcare (iREACH), a £52m project on two sites straddling the Lisburn Road in Belfast. GII and iREACH are currently progressing through RIBA Stage 2. You will act as the Estates Development Project Manager for iREACH or GII from RIBA Stage 3. You will lead on all related contractor procurement activities, working alongside the existing Estates Planning Project Manager to effect a successful knowledge transfer and handover from Planning Division to Development Division. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this vacancy, you must possess the following: A relevant undergraduate University degree (Built Environment); Professional Chartership Achievement to a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, RIBA) or Registered Architect. At least 5 years recent relevant experience in an estates/building project environment to include: a) Experience of working for or with a large complex organisation b) Experience of successfully project managing major New Build capital projects (in excess of £8m). c) Experience of successfully project managing Refurbishment capital projects (in excess of £3m). d) A good understanding of various Works Contractor procurement routes e) Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams in achieving successful project delivery. Additionally, you must possess experience of: Successfully managing multiple stakeholders in a capital project environment. Successful management of project budgets and resources. Using project management systems and tools in the successful delivery of projects.
