Job Purpose

Assist the Company's Accountants and Auditors to ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Department.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, invoicing and credit control

To take full responsibility for invoicing for the goods and services provided by IMCI. To prepare and send invoices for goods, fees, costs and commissions due. To prepare and send monthly statements. To ensure all invoicing for the goods and services provided by IMCI are done promptly and accurately. To ensure that all accounts related problems with customers are resolved promptly and to the satisfaction of the company and the customers. To assist in the recording and filing of all accounting transactions. To input data and keep accounts up to date on Sage. To keep the records of customers statements, receipts and payments up to date. To assist and deal with customs and revenue enquiries and queries. To allocate money received and issue payment advices.

To manage and take full responsibility for credit control. To monitor and chase overdue accounts and chase debts. To ensure customers’ accounts are held within the limits and within the terms agreed (IE ensure customers pay in time and stay within allocated credit limits). To put customers’ accounts on hold when necessary and to put a hold on the despatch of ordered products to them if and when necessary.

To deal with the employees payroll and to oversee the payment of wages. To monitor and record employees’ absences, holidays and time off. To ensure all Employees records are kept accurately and up to date.

To be successful in this role, the Accounts & Purchasing Assistant will need to:

  • Be a Degree Graduate with an interest in pursuing a career in Accounting or be a partly or fully AAT qualified.
  • Be able to offer outstanding customer service either face to face or over the telephone
  • Portray a positive attitude
  • Be self-driven and self-reliant
  • Have a good standard of numeracy
  • Be computer literate
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement
  • Have the ability to prioritize workload and work well under pressure, to meet deadlines and manage business expectations
  • A legal right to work in the UK
  • Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
