SEMH Teaching Assistant-Primary Location: Gateshead Salary: £75 to £100 per day Start Date: ASAP/September 2024 Contract Type: Full time or Part time GSL Education is seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant-Primary to support young students in Gateshead from September 2024 . Your role will focus on assisting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant-Primary , you will work closely with students in both one-to-one and small group settings, helping them thrive in their learning environment. Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant-Primary: Assist in the preparation of lessons according to the curriculum and key stages. Support primary students with SEMH needs in a classroom environment. Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to students with their studies and programmes. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support student progress. Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents. Encourage and motivate students to achieve their educational goals. Job Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant-Primary : CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Education, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. Previous experience as SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary or working with students with SEMH needs is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A genuine passion for supporting young students and helping them succeed. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
