Finance Manager

My client is an international award-winning consultancy organisation based in central London. Due to continuous growth they are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.

Requirements : Management

  • Partner General Manager and Unit management team in preparation and evaluation of Business Plans. Accountable for decision-making and planning from a finance perspective
  • Set objectives and Key Performance Indicators, for performance monitoring and quality measurement
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with the project teams and wider business community, sharing best practice and driving a unified culture
  • Attendance at Executive and Management Board meetings, providing strategic direction for the Unit

Projects

  • Review of proposals, including assessment of financial aspects of contracts to facilitate invoicing and payments, and identify grounds for additional fees
  • Work with Group/Regional Finance, Treasury, Tax, and Shared Service teams to enhance delivery with project teams
  • Attend monthly project control meetings for major and risky projects
  • Drive working capital management; optimising prompt invoicing and collections, cashflow and remittances
  • Lead the finance team and project managers in challenging the status quo, establishing a culture of continuous improvement

Reporting and Compliance

  • Interpret monthly management accounts for the Unit; controlling financial performance, improving profitability, utilisation, overhead control and working capital
  • Supervise preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, aligned in delivery of Business Plans
  • Lead compliance with Group Directives including insurances, trade licenses and registrations. Supervise statutory accounts, tax and other returns, statutory and internal audits
  • Monitor financial control environment and effective completion of an annual Controls Matrix

Training and Development

  • Lead Unit staff in maintaining the project control system, providing finance training to control accurate project budgets and revenue recognition
  • Sponsor finance improvement projects to build positive relationships with the wider business and deliver projects successfully

Requirements :

  • Must be qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with circa 10 years post qualified experience
  • Worked in a project based business of a similar size as a senior member of staff
  • Must be a good communicator (both written and verbal)
  • Strong Excel skills to an intermediate to high level
  • Strong analytical skills with a good eye for detail
  • Ability to see tasks through to conclusion
  • Experience of supervision or mentoring
