Drama Teacher in Tower Hamlets About the Role Our client, an esteemed secondary school in the vibrant borough of Tower Hamlets, seeks a highly qualified and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2024, offering an exciting chance to inspire and cultivate a love for the dramatic arts in Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational philosophy. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to express themselves creatively and develop their acting, directing, and technical skills. Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and tailoring instruction to individual needs. Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to create enriching cross-curricular experiences and contribute to the school's vibrant performing arts program. Actively participate in the school's extracurricular activities, such as directing school productions, organizing drama clubs, and participating in festivals and competitions. Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Demonstrated experience teaching drama at the secondary level, with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating students. A strong understanding of the national curriculum for drama and a passion for keeping abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
