This is a Hybrid role working between home and the Birchwood, Warrington office and is offering you the perfect opportunity to combine technical expertise with legislative requirements and to see the latest technology under development by equipment manufacturers.If you are acquainted with the ATEX / IECEx regulations and explosion physics, and at the same time have an entrepreneurial mindset, you might be exactly the one our client is looking for!About the companyOur client was founded in 1987 as a consulting brand and in 1998, they were established as an independent company providing advanced safety engineering software, consulting and fire and explosion testing services.They continue to build on the knowledge and expertise acquired for more than 50 years of involvement in R&D and large loss incident investigations and have since become a world-leading company in the field of safety and risk management and advanced dispersion, explosion and fire modelling.About the roleAs Product Certification Manager, you will lead the accreditation of the business as an UKCA approved body and also work on becoming an IECEx approved body and assistance will be provided from within the group and your responsibilities will include:Being accountable for conformity assessments of products intended to be certified according to the European ATEX legislation. This includes review of documentation, generation of test programs for the product, inspection, and test witnessingHandling incoming requests and the setting up of certification agreementsCarrying out marketing and sales activities of the services to grow the business with the services providedEstablish and maintain the business as a UK Appointed Body for UKCA CertificationEstablish and maintain the business as an approved IECEx Certification Body (ExCB) for the Conformity Mark Licensing SchemeAct in an impartial manner towards customers and act with a high level of integrityDevelop network within relevant areas and promote certification servicesProvide tutoring and guidance to other members of staff to raise competence and level of expertiseExtensive participation in the development and follow-up of Certification AgreementsBe acquainted with all relevant/necessary routines, procedures, work instructions and other requirements in the Quality Management System and carry out work according to these requirementsMaintain up to date professional qualifications and competence within area of technical expertiseManage complaints and appealsTake ownership of development of certification requirements, as well as revision and approval of conformity evaluationsProcurement of adequate resources for certification activitiesAbout youTo be successful for the role of Product Certification Manager, you must be / have:A minimum of 5 years of experience in ATEX evaluation work of equipment according to Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX 114), either working for a manufacturer, end user, approved/notified body or other public bodiesApproved qualification according to the IECEx Personnel Competence Certification SchemePost-graduation degree in technical studiesExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with both colleagues and customersExcellent written and oral communication and presentation skillRobust interpersonal skills including cooperation and toleranceMust be approachable and have a coaching style with the ability to convey complicated technical evaluations to lay-persons and experts alikeEnthusiastic, positive, open and honestHigh level of integrity with the ability to evaluate impartiality and communicate concernsAbout the rewardsThe role of Product Certification Manager is a Hybrid position so you will work from home and also from the Birchwood, Warrington office.
