What you will be doing As the Civil Asset Condition Inspector for either water or wastewater, you will be responsible for carrying out assessments on the condition of large civil assets within Thames Water. You will undertake condition assessments and inspections and provide technical reports detailing the finding and support in the definition of remedial works and investment requirements.The role will support the Civil Asset Condition Team Leader in corporategovernance in this area. Working in a collaborative team, key areas of accountability will include :

  • Reporting on the performance of the assessment condition program against key performance indicators and other relevant measures
  • Implementing business and technical developments to improve business performance
  • Supporting in the development of standards, systems, and processes in asset condition assessment and providing the business with guidance and support relating to asset assessment
  • Coaching and mentoring others to ensure continuous improvement

We’re looking for you to :

  • Be degree qualified or equivalent work experience in civil engineering with membership at the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  • Have highly developed communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders, and team members
  • Be a recognized leader in condition assessment and inspections with considerable experience in the water industry
  • Have the in-depth technical expertise required to support the definition of civil assets within the water or wastewater business and implement an appropriate condition assessment and inspection program
  • Be proficient in using our company IT systems and Microsoft Office software
  • Travel to key business sites as required (you will need a full driving license)
