Independent Reviewing Officer

Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for an Independent Reviewing Officer to work full-time based in Wandsworth.

The salary for this permanent Independent Reviewing Officer is £43,833-£53,115 per annum.

Main purpose of the role :

• Provide a quality assurance service to children in need of protection and children looked after across Children’s Services; this includes providing leadership and contribution to the development and quality assurance of service standards and practice.
• Ensure a high quality of planning for children and ensure that all statutory duties are carried out to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
• Chair reviews of Children Looked After and Child Protection conferences to a high standard within required statutory timescales and to the agreed practice framework.
• To chair strategy meetings for complex investigations and allegations against trusted adults.

Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer :

• Degree or equivalent in social work
• Current Social Work England registration
• Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
• Extensive knowledge of child abuse/harm and its effect on children
• Extensive knowledge about the reasons children become looked after and the vulnerability that arises from being a child looked after
