Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take your career to the next level? We are working with a well-established construction company specialising in Groundworks & Earthworks, who are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and contractual management of projects from inception to final account, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Handle payment applications, including assessing variations and their financial impacts.
  • Negotiate interim payment amounts with stakeholders and track payment timelines.
  • Collaborate on project budgets with contracts managers and operations leadership.
  • Oversee monthly reporting and cost value reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor budget performance and cost projections on a monthly basis.
  • Manage subcontractor relations from enquiries through to final accounts.
  • Support tender processes and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
  • Provide commercial advice and resolve issues for contracts managers.
  • Conduct site visits for variation monitoring and maintain accurate records.
  • Lead and develop teams, providing performance feedback and guidance.
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships to enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Produce concise commercial reports reflecting contractual performance.


The Ideal Candidate:


  • Holds a degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with standard forms of contracts such as JCT.
  • Effective team player with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in MS Office and finance software.
  • Previous experience in QS roles, preferably in demolition or enabling works.
  • Experienced in subcontractor management and procurement.
  • Possesses a valid UK Driving Licence.
