HR Advisor - 6 Months Maternity Cover

Senior HR Advisor required to cover Maternity for 6 months starting ASAP

The Senior HR Advisor will work as part of the wider HR team to provide support to managers and employees on a range of areas including induction, reward and recognition, learning and development and performance management. With an excellent understanding of HR legislation and good practice the Senior HR Advisor will also take responsibility for aspects of departmental innovation and wider developmental initiatives across all divisions, such as developing and implementing reward strategies and apprenticeship programmes.

Responsibilities

Contribute at a senior level to the developmental priorities of the department as outlined in the HR Business Plan

Work with the Head of HR to analyse HR data and identify follow up actions

Research, propose and implement appropriate benefit and wellbeing offerings, within budget

Work with the Head of HR and relevant managers to identify training priorities, deliver training solutions, measure impact on practice and assess the cost effectiveness of this approach

Provide support for the apprenticeship and trainee programmes

With the Head of HR manage the relationship with the CITB and other training bodies to understand how funding and grants are secured and maximised for the Company

Support investigations, including capability, grievance and disciplinary proceedings. Lead these activities when required

Deal effectively and efficiently with various day to day HR queries by phone, in person or via the HR inbox

Build and manage employee relationships in a confidential and professional manner

Deliver induction activities for new employees

Contribute to the development of the HR content on the Company intranet

On occasion, provide absence cover for the other HR Advisor and Recruitment Assistant

Provide mentoring and coaching to other team members when required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum of Assoc CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)

Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities able to translate across all levels of the business

Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information confidentially

Excellent IT skills with competency in HR related technology and able to analyse data

Proven work experience in a similar role in a comparable sized organisation

Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and HR good practice

Excellent grasp of literacy and numeracy

Well organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines

Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
