Pay during first 6 months

  • £16,800+, pay until completion of Phase 2 training

  • £21,400+, pay after training increases further with additional yearly incremental rises. All with additional benefits:

Experience Needed - None! We have qualified and unqualified routes which provide some of the best on the job training at no cost to yourself, and you will always receive basic training first to get you accustomed to the role. The RAF willtrain and develop you as an individual, also offering award-winning apprenticeships with a guaranteed job at the end

  • Chef**.The Chef training program will provide you with the requiredorganisational, time management, communication and number skills you require to stay calm under pressure.

As a Chef in the RAF you could:

  • Being employed in military dining facilities where you will work with the industrial partner to prepare hotel standard fare and provide gastronomy dining experiences for Military personnel
  • Using your experience in a Field kitchen providing catering support for Exercises and Operations worldwide
  • In-Flight Catering producing meals for fast jet pilots, helicopter crews and large aircraft crew and passengers travelling to all corners of the globe.
  • With experience, volunteering to work in our VIP Team and cook for high-ranking Officers, Government Ministers and even members of the Royal Family.
  • Competing in culinary competitions and eventually gain an invitation to represent the Royal Air Force on the Combined Services Culinary Arts Team who compete internationally against the best industry Chefs in the world.
  • Being competitive for promotion and earning up to £52,837 (top level pay).

Your career will start with a 10-week Basic Recruit Training Course at RAF Halton, then a 14-week specialist training course and 10-day Introduction to Deployed Operations with No 3 Mobile Catering Squadron (3 MCS).
