We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Gloucester. Your main role as a Procurement Manager is to manage the Procurement function and associated activities, ensuring that best practice procedures are in place for sourcing, competitive tendering, order book management, contractual agreements and material requirements planning and forecasting. You will function as part of the Procurement Team – providing leadership and management controls to ensure the smooth performance of the procurement team and the wider organisation. Responsibilities.... To manage the Procurement function, including a small team of Buyers, in the day-to-day execution of procurement activities including supplier selection, sourcing, competitive tendering, order book management, and material requirements planning and forecasting To develop and implement documented procedures and processes that ensure robust controls are in place in support of procurement activities and controlled as part of the Business Management System(s) To lead the development of a Procurement strategy and formulate the ensuing ‘day-to-day’ deployment plan which will meet the financial, strategic and performance requirements. To deliver the Procurement strategy in a robust and profitable manner, fully integrating actions and delivery with the respective Sales & Marketing, and Production Operations plans and requirements To develop, manage and lead the strategy, focused on performance improvement, supplier rationalization, supplier portfolio contract implementation for improved service and landed / total cost reduction. To perform routine analyses of spend, run reports, and identify opportunities to drive cost saving initiatives, promoting, and supporting business cost reduction activities To monitor inventory levels, supporting organisational cashflow targets, and interface with Logistics to ensure Goods-In and Supplier invoicing / payment processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner To develop, maintain, and report Key Performance Indicators for the Procurement team, Suppliers, and external Providers as applicable To negotiate orders, contracts, frame agreements and supporting Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) in support and alignment business requirements, Procurement strategy, and Customer defined needs, leading to contract award To develop the appropriate systems, processes, procedures, and tools necessary to support the robust delivery of the purchasing targets and to ensure that processes are aligned, standardized, and integrated across the business. Responsible for Direct & Indirect Procurement Requirements MCIPS qualified (or working towards CIPS level 4 Minimum would be advantageous) Minimum 5 + years’ experience holding senior position within Procurement Proficient in the application and use of ERP / MRP systems Experience of building Procurement and Material Planning systems and procedures Ability to demonstrate a strong track record in procurement and leadership Be able to work autonomously and independently to ensure alignment with cross functional teams Well organised with a structured and logical approach to problem solving Hours : 08.00 till 17.00, Monday to Friday Benefits Salary- £40,000- £50,000 Private healthcare Life insurance at 3x salary 25 days Annual leave plus 8 bank holidays Free parking Pension
