Job summary BPAS is an independent healthcare charity that has been advocating and caring for women and couples for over 55 years, supporting over 100,000 women annually across more than 50 healthcare clinics nationwide.Following significant organisational change and the establishment of a new Executive Leadership structure, we are looking for a Deputy Chief Nursing, Midwifery & Quality Officer to join the Senior Operational Team.Our vision is for asociety in which women are trusted to make their own reproductive choices withaccess to the information and services needed to exercise those choices. This role is critical in enabling this vision to be realised. Working closely with the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Heads of Operations, you'll be providing essential professional leadership and guidance to our nurses, midwives, and AHPs. You will be responsible for implementing national and local policies and clinical standards to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality care.You will oversee operational service delivery, lead on safeguarding & clinical practice standards, & drive strategies to enhance patient outcomes. Your duties also include managing audit plans, embedding BPAS's complaints procedures, and deputising for the Chief Clinical Officer. This role requires a blend of operational leadership and strategic insight.Working from home with travel required to our Head Office in Leamington Spa and BPAS units when required. This is for 36 hours per week over Monday to Friday. Main duties of the job Provide visible & accessible leadership to supportthe delivery of an operational serviceLead highly complex sensitive situations thatrequire a high level of decision making & be able to gain the authority & respect of the clinical and operational workforceRegularly observe clinic operations to uphold clinical standards, support staff & to ensure national best practiceCreate & execute strategies to improve patient outcomes, maintain clinical capacity, & embed a culture of personalised careDevelop & implement continuous service improvement programs, ensuring effective governance and CQC preparednessManage the day-to-day delivery & leadership of nursing & midwifery services, aligning with objectives, quality standards, & resource constraintsFoster a culture of openness & transparency, ensuring incidents of poor care are reported, investigated, & lead to clear improvements in practiceAbout YouYou'll be a registered Nurse, Midwife, or AHP with an active NMC pin, a masters degree or equivalent experience, & significant experience in a senior managerial role, preferably within womens healthcare. You'll have a proven track record of leading change in complex environments, managing quality governance, & delivering services that meet contractual requirements. You should be able to balance strategic vision with day-to-day operational management. Your leadership style will be compassionate & effective, with a commitment to driving service improvements and maintaining high standards.
