Contract :Permanent & full time - varied shifts between a mix of early or late shifts (7:30 am - 8 pm)

Salary :£23,000-£25,000 per annum dependent on skills & experience

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Access Officer to be part of the Self Pay & Reporting team.

As a Patient Access Officer, you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to patients, consultants and other third parties that will assist in promoting the successful management of all aspects of the patient pathway whilst in houseand discharged including any follow up queries.

Your duties asa Patient Access Officer - Self Pay & Reporting team will include providing accurate Self Pay quotations to patients, consultants and other third parties.

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • To understand and promote all available services on offer from The Lister Hospital.
  • To be able to provide verbal and written self-pay quotations for all services at The Lister Hospital.
  • To produce self-pay quotes, ensuring all enquiries are responded to within 24 hours of receipt (72 hours for complex enquiries)
  • Accurately record all quotations
  • To manage unbilled revenue, shortfalls and patient administration reports
  • To audit all patient accounts post discharge, to ensure all charges have been captured.
  • To work through on hold accounts making sure queries are answered and accounts are all actioned and off hold within 30 days

Ideally we are looking for someone with :

  • Previous Administrative experience is essential, ideally private
  • Computer literacy
  • Good general level of education
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
