Sports Centre Attendant

Sports Centre Attendant 24 hours (3 shifts) /week

Location: Beacon Sport & Fitness, Prosperity Park, Stafford, ST18 0BF £7.50-£10.42 per hour

Beacon Sport and Fitness is fast becoming one of the most popular sports and fitness venues in Stafford. Situated on Weston Road in Stafford, the centre offers range of facilities including a fully-equipped gym, floodlit Astroturf pitches, 3G 5 a side pitches, fitness studio and sports hall.

About the role : Key responsibilities :

• First point of contact for customers and visitors to the Sport & Fitness Centre, greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
• Promote, process and advise on memberships.
• Ensure a high level of customer service and effective response to all enquiries.
• Manage and provide advice on the bookings and ensure that all bookings are logged onto the booking system.
• Allocating tasks to casual staff and monitoring to ensure that work is carried out to a satisfactory standard.
• Cash handling duties, include cashing-up at the end of a shift.
• Ensure correct hand-over of the day’s business to colleagues working the next shift, making sure that colleagues are fully briefed about issues that may affect the next shift.
• Manage access to the building and ensure Centre remains well presented, clean and tidy.

Working Hours

The Centre’s current opening hours are Mon - Fri 6.00 am to 10.00 pm, Sat/ Sun/ Bank Holidays 8.00 am to 8.00pm. Staff work on a rota basis. Early shifts start 15 minutes before the centre opens and late shifts finish 15 minutes after the centre closes. You will be scheduled to work a mix of early and late shifts of 8.5 hours per week between Monday and Sunday (shifts include a 30 minute unpaid break). This post requires flexibility in working hours and there may, at times, be a requirement for you to provide additional cover for holidays and sickness. This specific post will require a minimum of 2 weekends to be worked a month.
