Whatever your priorities – work/life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.Data Protection & Complaints Oversight OfficerManager: Operations ManagerDepartment: KGMUS MotorHybrid: 3 days per weekLocation: RomfordMain Purpose:To manage the data rights processes, including subject access requests (SARs) from start to finish.To support oversight of all complaints in KGM (including Eridge). This would include undertaking QA checks across the estate.Main Responsibilities:Preparing complaints QA MI for regular reviews (SMT/Board etc.)Liaising with Claims Dept on the regular complaint reviewsParticipation in meetings with TPA’s & FOS ReviewsLogging and responding to Subject Access Requests, maintaining and updating the log, preparing reports, liaising with the DPO at DUAL.Collate data protection MI to report to DPO on a monthly basis, including data rights and, data protection incidents and complaintsIdentify and escalate high risk processing which may require a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)Support the business in improving data protection controlsEstablish and maintain a Records of Processing Activity (RoPA)Collaborate with the DPO to ensure data protection controls are embedded into systems and practicesStay current with emerging data protection risks and trendsEnsure all required online and CPD training is completed as required by the businessParticipate in ad hoc duties as required to effectively maintain the smooth running of the department.Skills and Experience:Proven experience of managing SARs and complaint management/oversightAble to prioritise workloads effectively and work to regulatory deadlinesAbility to quickly understand procedural issues and implement changesAble to make quick and precise decisionsGood understanding of FCA regulationsGood organisation and time management skillsGood listening skillsAbility to communicate well at all levels both verbally and in writingAble to work under pressureAwareness of market changes and influences that could affect the businessPersonal Qualities:Computer literateGood numeric and analytical skillsStrong organisational skillsApproachableFlexibleTeam PlayerSelf motivatedPositive attitudeAlways acts in a professional manorAbility to work under pressureGood communication skills both written and oralKGM Values:Ambition – Drive to succeed and achieve excellence in your role and with KGM Underwriting Services Limited.
