We have an exciting opportunity working within both new and existing projects, creating bespoke, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions for our clients within the energy sector.If you are passionate about Engineering, have some energy industry experience, or have transferable skills, then we would love to hear from you.Basic Purpose of Job:Ensure that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with in accordance with agreed procedures & standardsProduction of cost effective Instrument engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books in conjunction with other members of the project team in a timely and efficient mannerSupport the Lead Engineer in department activitiesKey Duties:Ensure that the work output of Instrument personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant, Client, national & international standards & procedures. This will be generally be achieved by applying the Optimus Plus checking & approval procedure for all created documents, & calculationsProvide technical assistance to Instrument personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Instrument personnel, including mentoringEnsure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and scheduleBe conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU DirectivesPrepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedulesEnsure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Instrument activitiesProvide technical assistance to other disciplines as requiredProviding documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on timeProducing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safeParticipate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as requiredAssist the Lead Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and dutiesOur Senior Instrument Engineers can expect to work in a modern environment, enjoy flexible working and will be offered a range of working options to suit individual situations. We have a generous benefits package available which includes pension, enhanced sick pay and income protection to name a few.About YouOur ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs.Qualifications / Experience required:Degree in an Electrical / Instrument Engineering related disciplineHNC or equivalent in an Electrical / Instrument engineering related disciplineKnowledgeable in and practical application control and safety systemsKnowledgeable in and practical application hydraulic and pneumatic systemsKnowledgeable in and practical application control and shutdown valvesSkilled in Instrument engineering principles and their application in engineering projectsBOSIET Offshore survival certification (Desirable)Current offshore medical certificate (Desirable)Skills:Good interpersonal skillsTeam playerComputer literate in Microsoft Office ApplicationsDisplays confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliverAbility to investigate and interpret dataAbility to be responsive and open to changing circumstancesFor the position of Senior Instrument Engineer we are also willing to consider a Lead / Principal Designer who has the relevant experience that are looking to transfer to Engineer status and have or are looking at doing a relevant degree.
