Cleaning Supervisor

Job Purpose

Maintain excellent service standards for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie customer.

Main Duties

• Responsible for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning, including reactive works.
• Management of a cleaning team, including recruitment, selection and development of staff.
• Provide technical training as and when required for all cleaning staff to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to agreed standard.
• Advise Manager of any potential disciplinary issues as and when issues arise.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed and encourage safe working practices.
• Ensure cleaning staff understand and work to task schedules.
• Ensure the effective use of equipment and materials.
• Ensure that cleaning operatives are working the correct hours.
• Distribute uniforms, monitor standard of cleanliness and repair.
• Monitor the use of materials and order stocks as necessary.
• Report all machine and building faults to line manager.
• Ensure that machinery, equipment and cleaning cupboard are kept in a clean and tidy state.
• Deal with any issues efficiently and in a professional manner, referring to line manager where appropriate.
• Use a time and attendance system to record working hours.

• Able to work to a schedule on their own initiative.
• Have good communication skills.
