Job Summary
You will be required to work both as a team, and think on your own initiative. You must be empathetic and caring and able to provide excellent customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
a) Receiving and directing of patients on arrival
b) When necessary open premises
c) Close and secure premises
d) Handle general enquiries and make new and follow-up appointments
e) Responsibility for helping people with non-medical problems. Ensure that appropriate attention, care and time given to patients, particularly the elderly, and issue relevant details of services available to them
f) Answer telephone and deal with or redirect enquiries to appropriate staff
g) File and retrieve medical records
h) Registration of new patients and temporary residents
i) Take requests for prescriptions, change of address etc
j) Pass on information re unsolved or urgent problems
k) Photocopying
l) Use computer as per practice policy
m) Liaise and provide clerical assistance when necessary for attached staff
o) Assist with any other duties of a Clerical or Administrative nature that may be required of you
