About the store

Specsavers in Mexborough first opened its doors in 2006. The store sits in a prominent position in the centre of the main shopping street which is pedestrianised and is firmly embedded within the local community. They pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews currently holding a rating of 4.9/5 and an excellent local reputation.

The store is about to undergo an expansion and refit which will increase the number of test rooms from 3 to 5. Appointments are currently booked up to 4-5 weeks in advance so this increase in capacity will be welcome. We offer enhanced clinical services including OCT, MECS and post cat services. Specsavers in Mexborough, have a clear-sighted vision to transform eye health in their community.

A team of 23 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home. The existing Partner is really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

Store location

The store is located in the heart of the market town Mexborough, a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire. With excellent transport links; there’s a mainline railway station and a bus station within walking distance of the store and access to the M1 and A1 nearby. Sheffield is only 14 miles away and major towns such as Leeds and Manchester are easily accessible with Leeds being less than 50 minutes away by car. As the new Optometry Partner your customer base will be very diverse - but there’ll plenty of familiar faces too.

Requirements of the role

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
