Apply now and be part of our dynamic team at Liberty Steel GroupBenefits:35 Holiday DaysRetail Discount SchemeUp to a combined 16% pension contributionAccess to Free ParkingCareer Development and TrainingEmployee Assistance ProgrammeLife Assurance & Income ProtectionThe RoleUndertake reactive, preventative maintenance, and calibration services for combustion/instrumentation control systems.Independently troubleshoot faults, implement solutions, and monitor performance to enhance safety and production output.Assist in process control planning, routine maintenance, and breakdown responses.Ensure process control equipment maintenance aligns with procedures, legislation, and performance targetsComply with company policies and safety regulationsContribute to continuous improvement effortsMaintain asset availability through planned and reactive maintenanceSupport training and development within the teamParticipate in investigations and contribute to problem resolutionRequiredEssential Skills & Experience:Recognized Electrical / Process Control apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)Previous experience in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical systems within an industrial settingDemonstrable ability to learn new skillsStrong problem-solving awarenessAbility to read and interpret electrical drawingsKnowledge of Health Safety Legislation and adherence to SWP’s, risk assessments, and proceduresFamiliarity with computerized maintenance management systemsHold a full UK driving licenceDesirable Knowledge & Experience:Experience with furnace combustion systems, air/gas ratio control, PID control, and thermocouplesProficiency in measurement and instrumentation methodsCalibration expertise (NADCAP AMS, AS)Electronics troubleshooting and repair skillsFamiliarity with PC-based systems and communication protocolsKnowledge of PLC and SCADA systems (fault finding)Written reporting for maintenance and reliabilityCompetence in I.E.T. Wiring RegulationsExperience working in confined spaces and at heightsUnderstanding of environmental monitoring (ISO )Exposure to Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO)The Process Control Technician role is a day’s role with some weekend work on a rota basis.
