Main duties of the job Ensuring correspondence coming into the Practice is processed and coded correctly.Reading all incoming correspondence accurately and coding relevant diagnosis/procedure/information in the patients records following the scanning and coding protocol.Ensure all requests for Subject Access Requests and other requests for medical reports are processed accurately and promptly. Our team comprises of GP Partners, a salaried GP, Practice Nurses, Healthcare support staff and is supported by the all important administrative and reception team who are essential in ensuring the practice works efficiently.We are a training Practice and host medical students in addition to GP Registrars.We actively encourage and support staff learning and development. Job description Job responsibilities To ensure all clinical correspondence is scanned accurately and promptly.To enter clinical data into the Practice clinical system (S1).To input patient information on to the clinical system. Code and link each problem appropriately.Ensure that the filing and recording of patient information is promptly handled with care and in line with practice policies and procedures.Workflow to appropriate team/clinician for detailed actions identified on the correspondence.Process requests for information SAR's, Insurance/Solicitors letters and DVLA/PIP forms via the appropriate systems S1, iGPR.Liaise with various companies and health authorities regarding queries with discretion and confidentiality.Liaise with Practice Manager regarding fees.Adhere to strict guidelines for General Data Protection Regulations. Person Specification Experience Essential Experience of coding in Primary Care. Knowledge of System One (S1). Strong IT Skills. Desirable Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Qualifications Essential Ability to understand a range of medical terminology. Understanding of the clinical coding process. Experience of IT systems including Word and Outlook. Effective communication skills, both written and verbally. Desirable NVQ Level in Health and Social Care
