Design Engineer required for my client based within the control machinery industry, who are located in Evesham, Worcestershire.
The purpose of the position is to provide and support cost effectives and fit for purpose product designs, which meet customer needs and fits within the company's marketing strategy.
The role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Design EngineerPosition Overview
- Responsible for fit-for-purpose concept, prototype and production design activities.
- Accountable for BoM maintenance.
- Accountable for operator instruction manual and parts book content.
- Accountable for following departmental procedures and data storage requirements.
- Responsible for justifying the correct design balance between acceptable functionality, quality and minimum cost.
- Responsible for detailed design technical specifications arising from the project brief.
- Responsible for design of whole products, sub systems and components.
- Responsible for prime mover interface component design.
- Responsible for design specification and maintenance of proprietary and non-proprietary purchased parts.
Responsible for supplier liaison of development purchased parts, whether proprietary or non-proprietary.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with latest product legislative requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining engineering status of current products.
- Responsible for product development activities (including manual involvement when necessary).
Design EngineerPosition Requirements
- CAD design proficiency (previous Solidworks operational experience will be an advantage).
- Structural and mechanical design hand calculations.
- Knowledge and previous use of a Finite element analysis package will be an advantage.
- Appropriate strength of materials assessment experience.
- Hydraulic control component and system design experience.
- Basic electronic circuit design.
- Design for manufacture and assembly experience.
- Based within a commutable distance of Evesham, Worcestershire.
- Full UK Driving Licence
Design EngineerPosition Remuneration
- Salary - £40,000 - dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
- Full time role - Office based position.
