An exciting opportunity to join our Princes Trust Delivery Team, within Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service. This role will require flexibility with delivery and support to all Princes Trust locations within the service expected. The role is initially for 12 months with a permanent post review according to performance and service needs . Base location subject to change depending on role and organisations requirements. Your role To lead and motivate a team of young people, through GMFRS led personal development course and act as a role model at all times. To implement appropriate recruitment strategies to ensure that there is an effective, consistent and targeted recruitment in place to attract unemployed team members from the local community to support in reducing levels of worklessness for the future. Understand and be familiar with the Prince’s Trust Team Toolkit, Team-partners’ webpage and Team Leader Guidelines to influence the delivery of Team programme. Help plan and deliver the Team 12-week personal development programme in line with the Team programme Toolkit requirements. General Duties & Requirements of the Role: Ensure the appropriate use of policy and procedures within delivery. Support delivery of qualifications and accredited outcomes in line with required Standards Plan and carry out regular individual and team reviews incorporating the development of individual learning plans. To support the Annual Quality reviews and contribute as required. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Responsible for completion of relevant paperwork to the required standard, timescales and deadlines set. Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnerships with local employers. Support Team member progression into a positive outcome of employment, education, training and volunteering and evidence outcomes as appropriate. Undertake key tasks to support delivery of GMFRS led personal development programmes as identified by the Team Manager. To deputise for the Team Manager in their absence Contribution to delivery of intervention initiative/programmes within the borough/clusters. Utilise and maintain equipment and team resources. Practise and promote health, safety and welfare of participants. Promote the good name of the Prince’s Trust and the Delivery Partner organisation at all times. Organisational and Departmental Support: Attend residential training courses as required Provide resilience across all youth engagement/education activity Requirement to work evenings and/or weekends Responsible for identifying, managing and reporting safeguarding issues in accordance with GMFRS Safeguarding Policy NB: This list of duties and responsibilities is by no means exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as required. About you Knowledge & Experience Good level of numeracy and literacy Possession of PTTLS, CTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent Youth work qualification (or a willingness to study for this level of qualification if appointed) (desirable) D1 Category (Minibus) licence (desirable) Food Hygiene Certificate(desirable) First Aid Certificate (desirable) Experience of partnership working within the local community Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload Organisational and administration skills and self-motivation Experience of working with a range of young people in a variety of settings Experience of managing health and safety including risk assessments Knowledge of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (desirable) Knowledge of The Prince’s Trust Team Programme (desirable) Awareness of the issues affecting Children and Young People (desirable) Knowledge of Portfolio based learning (desirable) Understanding of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) (desirable) Experience of partnership working within the local community (desirable) Experience of Safeguarding processes and issues (desirable) Skills & Behaviours Customer focused approach To communicate clearly, orally and in writing Ability to work effectively as part of a team Well organised and methodical Flexible approach to work Commitment to equality of opportunity in employment and service provision.
