Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Assistance : Support the class teacher in preparing lessons and conducting classroom activities.
  • 1:1 Support : Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) and those exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Intervention Programs : Lead focused intervention sessions in numeracy and literacy to help boost student achievement.
  • Student Engagement : Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation.
  • Behavior Management : Implement and uphold effective behavior management strategies to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Team Collaboration : Work in partnership with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to support overall student development.
  • Administrative Support : Help with administrative duties such as maintaining student records and preparing instructional materials.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with primary school-aged children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Relevant educational or childcare qualifications (preferably a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students across a range of abilities and needs.
  • Knowledge of the primary school curriculum and effective teaching methods.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Proficient behavior management skills and adaptability to different classroom settings.
