Job overview Month Fixed-Term ContractWe are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our post of Specialist Home Enteral Feeding and Nutrition Support Dietitian.The role involves providing high quality patient centred dietetic care. You will work alongside a well-established Home Enteral Feeding team; as well as being part of the wider Dietetic department within Cambridge & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT). CPFT has dietitians and Dietetic Assistants/Assistant Practitioners as well as our administration team. The post holder needs to be highly organised, adaptable and able to work under pressure, with Home enteral feeding, plans often needing to change at short notice. Good support will be provided to the successful candidate including clinical supervision. Successful candidates must be a car driver and be able to travel around the county at short notice as this is a community based post involving frequent travel to patient homes, care homes and other venues.This post will be mainly covering the Cambridge & Fenland localities but may involve on occasions supporting surrounding areas. Part time hours will also be considered. Main duties of the job To provide a specialist dietetic service in the community to a wide variety of complex adult clients with feeding tubes, including advice on tube care, administration of feeds and ordering.To nutritionally diagnose, give appropriate advice and formulate treatment plans when consulting with patients, relatives and carers, taking into account factors such as the clients presenting condition, past medical history, social considerations and medication.To act as a point of reference for dietetic colleagues and other health professionals with respect to nutrition and HEF, giving advice, training, and supporting their clinical practice.To support the department's Preceptorship and student training programme, when appropriate.To participate in regular supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and Trust policy.Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults – To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.To comply with the Professional Codes of Conduct and to be aware of changes in these. To maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation and local policies and procedures implementing this.
