I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a qualified children's support worker to join a STUNNING children's residential service as a Senior Children's Support Worker supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 who present a range of emotional, behavioural & complex interpersonal behavioural needs. Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car We are looking for a COMMITTED and DEDICATED individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally. Team building events Competitions Free Parking Face-to-face specialist training Plenty of opportunities to maximise earnings and career development Enhanced disclosure cost coverage As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for: To lead by example and support the management team to run the shift Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age. Keeping the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes. Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed. Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare. Providing support for the children and young people in the home and promoting their independence and well-being. Maintaining a safe environment for young people. Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication. Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically. Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists. Requirements: Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or with Young People is ESSENTIAL Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young Peo ple ESSENTIAL A Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport the children from time to time Ability to work the shift pattern (8am-10pm plus sleep ins) If you are passionate about the lives of young people and want to make a real difference as a Senior Children's Support Worker in the health and social care sector this is the job for you!
