Have a working knowledge of cancer services and associated pathways. Possess a level of expertise in the use of computer technology to enable accurate data collection, analysis and the provision of reports and other documentation linked to the role such as records of meetings, presentations, service activity. Knowledge of a full range of nursing procedures acquired through Vocational Level 4 or similar level of qualification, or Vocational Level 3 plus additional relevant specialist training in a range of nursing procedures and practices. Knowledge of cancer health services in Wales. Occasionally participate in surveys, audits and quality assurance procedures as necessary. Possess varied experience of planning and supporting implementation of service improvements across nursing or allied health professional services. Have a knowledge and understanding of key NHS Wales strategic objectives such as the Welsh Governments Together for Health and its associated Cancer Delivery Plan. Be required to have standard keyboard computer skills to fulfil duties of the post, and to ensure accurate input and retrieval of data and information. Support the specialist Urological cancer nursing team in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of a range of service associated evaluation outcomes. This will require the skills for deciding how best to present data once collected and analysed. Project manage and deliver complex service improvement projects involving setting up and populating of a range of databases to analyse and compare services across South Wales. Develop and compare a range of options based upon complex facts or situations. Be responsible for supporting the specialist cancer nurses in identifying and recommending innovative solutions to workforce associated problems identified where there may be a range of options available. Will have regular contact with patients and carer representatives both in clinical settings and via other methods of communication, providing condition related advice and information concerning appointments. Adhere to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) policies and procedures, and may comment on proposed changes to policies affecting cancer services. Be responsible for the safe use of clinical and IT equipment, and will also be required to order and monitor stock and supplies used by the cancer nursing teams. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day supervision of support staff and demonstrate own duties to new or less experienced staff.
