Head of IT PMO/Leeds/Hybrid/Permanent Your new company Hays Technology are recruiting a Head of IT PMO at a large public sector organisation based in Leeds. This role offers hybrid working and an exciting opportunity to make the role your own during a period of digital transformation. Your new role As the Head of IT PMO, you will be ensuring the effective operation and development of the IT portfolio, programme and project governance service and supporting senior management. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of IT programmes and projectsthroughout their lifecycle, with particular emphasis on ensuring the overall future programme of work is visible and to ensure proposals are realistic, likely to achieve benefits which outweigh the costs and to highlight where projects are unviable. You willbe responsible for any budget implications of proposed projects are understood with target deliverables aligned to the organisation's strategic framework KPI objectives and plans. You will also provide key stakeholders and designated governance boards with high quality IT project portfolio management and information visualisations, underpinned by robust IT resource/skills estimates and capacity forecasts. You will be ensuring that ITprojects and programmes are initiated and delivered with service design and service transition plans to enable successful and sustainable onward service operation and support. What you'll need to succeed

  • Recognised professional qualification in Portfolio, Programme and Project Office management, along with PRINCE2
  • Experience of managing and coaching project/PMO professionals
  • Knowledge and experience working with agile and waterfall delivery methodologies, along with a strong working knowledge of IT service management in practices
  • Experience and evidence of successfully managing complex IT project portfolios and associated development work
  • Evidence of ability to define IT programme/project delivery and associated PMO governance standards, monitor service delivery against these standards
  • Significant experience successfully delivering IT programmes and Projects in a large service-centric organisation with a wide range of key stakeholder groups
  • The ability to present IT PMO portfolios and associated concepts, with appropriate dashboard virtualisations, clearly and confidently to all key stakeholders
