Your new company Hays Legal are delighted to represent one of the leading providers of legal and claims solutions to insurers, businesses and other suppliers to the insurance sector. Currently recruiting for a Claims Handler to join their team in Belfast. Your new role This role will involve supporting solicitors with claims handling services. Duties will include:

  • Providing a courteous and efficient claims handling service through both written and verbal communication with clients, ensuring department service standards are met
  • Reviewing and handling claims from start to conclusion, regularly reviewing throughout
  • Negotiating cost funding with solicitors and ensuring compliance with policy terms and conditions
  • Liaise with both solicitors and policy holders in a professional manner
  • Ensure all files are kept in order and all files sent to clients are correctly prepared in accordance with the firm's standards
  • A degree in law or relevant legal experience
  • Effective time management is essential, especially as you will need to prioritise work for solicitors
  • You will have good communication skills and telephone manner, with the ability to address queries with effective solutions
  • IT literacy with experience using MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook - working knowledge of how to create and maintain contacts, working knowledge of diary maintenance, including joint diaries with other solicitors.
  • You will also have the ability to maintain confidentiality and work without supervision
