This client boasts an extremely healthy order book, excellent working conditions and future progression plans for their employees.Reporting into the Head of Department you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 Operatives. Day to day responsibilities for the Finishing Manager will include; Responsible for labour outputAssigning daily workloads to Operatives within the departmentAttending daily production meetings providing updates including any delays in orders and working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and other members of the SMTResponsible for hand tool maintenance and managementEnsure the priority orders are managed accordinglyUpdate the WIP systemOrder materials as requiredBe involved in risk assessments, operating procedures and safety improvements as well as and 5s advances - and be able to act on those findingsHave a good experience and understanding of this type of manufacturing cell and help to achieve excellent equipment OEEProvide ongoing training and development to the operatives within the department This role would suit someone who is currently working as a Castings Finishing Manager, Foundry Supervisor, Production Team Leader, Manufacturing Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor or Shift Manager within a Manufacturing, Production, Steel or Castings Environment.You will; Be confident interpreting drawingsHave previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment including working with hand tools, measuring equipment, route cardsShow good analytical thought process with the ability to be an active team member in finding route cause issue on component and product faults and equipment issues.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.Minimum of 2 years previous experience of working in a manufacturing / engineering environment is required involving either steel or metals ideally. This is a new role within the business as part of their growth and future projected plans.
