Lead Specialist Screening Practitioner Bowel Cancer

The post holder will provide a clear focus for professional leadership and operational management, contributing to the strategic development and management of all Specialist Screening Practitioners (SSPs) in the programme, including expert practice, education, training, development, leadership, workforce and performance management. The post holder will be responsible for leading the training and development of all the SSPs within the Programme. The Lead SSP is to develop the educational strategy for SSPs, as well as acting as the Line Manager for Deputy Lead SSP and SSPs.The post holder will manage the workload of NHS BCSP in regard to the FIT screening and the surveillance of patients with Lynch Syndrome, in conjunction with the Programme Manager and directing resources to ensure appropriate support for Bowel Cancer Screening programme. In addition, the post holder will oversee the workload of the SSPs to provide the service in conjunction with the Clinical Director NHS BCSP and the BCSP Programme Manager.The post holder will be the strategic lead for the SSPs throughout the service working within the National BCSP, to facilitate the aims of the BCSP at a local level as part of the BCSP National Office and development strategy.
