Overview

As well as the above, the main form of assistance that this role entails will be to wash glasses used by the Chemists and Technicians so that there is a continual supply of clean glasses available in the laboratory and taking accurate stock control will also be required.

KEY TASKS

  1. Mixing and blending of samples.

  2. Dipping of sample.

  3. Operation of moisture balance.

  4. Operation of 4 d.p. balance.

  5. Operation of 6 d.p. balance.

  6. Operation of 7 d.p. balance.

  7. Interpretation of results for moisture.

  8. Replenishing materials to aid this process.

  9. Distribution of weighed samples.

  10. Sample storage.

  11. Ensuring that the volume of throughput is in line with the demands of the department.

  12. Responsible for ensuring the Balance Room is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.

  13. Undertake any other appropriate aspects of work carried out in the laboratory as

required by the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Manager.

  1. Undertake all activities in accordance with company policies and procedures regarding

safe methods of working, correct use of PPE, safe handling of chemicals and reagents.

  1. Washing glasses.

  2. Taking accurate stock control.
