Due to maternity leave, we need to recruit an Inventory Lead on a 12 month fixed term contract to ensure the team continues to be fully supported. Working collaboratively with the product and category teams, you will ensure all existing and new products are forecasted accurately, maintaining optimum stock levels and availability targets. This is a great role for an Inventory Specialist who has good forecasting skills, strong stakeholder management skills and has demonstrated an aptitude for supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge. So we expect this role to suit someone who is keen to take on a lead role, to become more involved in process improvement and to build management skills.

What will I be doing as an Inventory Lead?

  • Use of Slim 4 to optimise availability by delivering ongoing improvement to forecast accuracy & appropriate levels of safety stock
  • Forecast exceptions - maintain demand planning parameters to action targeted forecast reviews.
  • New Line and Promotional Planning Forecasts to be reviewed and maintained.
  • Effectively manage Stock Health by devoting specific focus on underperforming lines
  • Identify items with unusual demand patterns impacting availability. Use Slim4 to mitigate risk.
  • Forecast profiles - Analyse patterns in trading profiles of product areas/groups to improve the existing forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Category Management team on Inventory metrics (lead-times, effective MOQs), OTIF and effective end-of-life planning to optimize inventory.
  • Calculate commercial supplier orders for delivery into the business.
  • Support Senior Inventory Managers with Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive ongoing efficiency.

About You : What are we looking for in an Inventory Lead?

  • Demand planning/forecasting experience gained within fast-moving multi-SKU environments and resource planning software knowledge.
  • Microsoft Excel Skills - Intermediate to Advanced essential; reporting software experience (e.g. Power BI) desirable.
  • Good understanding of ERP systems gained though use and experience. Ability to understand functionality in relation to inventory control
  • Understand relationships between supplier performance, lead time, inventory level and availability.
  • Understanding of the characteristics of long supply chains and the techniques used to manage them.
